Selwyn Yorke
Selwyn grew up in Christchurch and began his career as a research scientist, who ended up in global Business Development at New Zealand Pharmaceuticals Ltd, a Manawatu company.
In “retirement”, he became a business mentor and maintained his interest in the business of science by becoming a Director on several diagnostic and biotech start-up Boards. He was a committee member of Environment Network Manawatu (ENM) and continues his involvement with ENM by sitting on the ENM Environmental Funds Grant committee.
Selwyn recently joined the Middle Districts Lions Club and sits on the Community Needs and Grants Committee. Selwyn is very active in community support programmes and joining the Te Awa Community Foundation Board is a natural progression in his services to the Community.
Selwyn has one child and three grandchildren, a partner who has three children and three grandchildren, so there is a busy family life. For relaxation, Selwyn is occasionally seen struggling around the local trails in his running shoes or on his mountain bike.
